Online test challenges (new)

This optional feature requires an account. Supabase stores your email, protected authentication credentials and challenge data, including smoke-free/relapse check-ins, in the separate European adem. project. This may include health information. Vercel hosts the API, Stripe processes test payments only, and Resend sends account emails. Do not enter real payment details; preferably use fictional check-ins for this closed test. Your local quit plan and journal are not automatically synced. Deleting local data does not delete your online account. The support inbox is not operational yet; contact the test administrator through your existing channel for test or privacy questions. This addendum takes precedence for online test challenges.

1. Provider

2. Your plan and records

You can enter a quit date, previous smoking habits, costs, motivation, cravings, cigarettes and notes. This may reveal health information. Adem processes this content on your device to display your plan, history and estimates. It does not send this content to an app server or our analytics provider. No Adem account is required. Notes are optional. Adem does not use advertising trackers, an advertising ID, contacts or location data.

3. Backups

You may export a backup or select a folder for automatic copies, for example in iCloud Drive. Your chosen file service then receives those files under its own terms and privacy policy. Device backups may also contain app data. This is separate from analytics.

Backup JSON contains your plan, moments and notes and is not separately password-encrypted. Protection also depends on your device, account and file service. Share carefully. A successful local write does not confirm a completed upload. Restoring replaces data after confirmation and keeps a local recovery copy; an unreadable original file is preserved for recovery. Exports and externally stored copies are not automatically deleted when you delete your plan or uninstall Adem.

4. Optional usage analytics

Analytics is off by default. Only if this service is configured and you enable it does Adem send at most one event per active UTC calendar day to TelemetryDeck GmbH. The event contains a hashed random installation identifier, the fact that the app was active that day, app version and a test-traffic flag. No quit dates, smoking records, craving scores or notes are included. Network requests also expose technical connection information to the recipient; see the provider’s privacy policy.

This helps us understand active installations and returning usage, not count people exactly. The identifier is pseudonymous; we do not describe it as necessarily anonymous. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple account. We ask for consent separately from use of the app.

You can switch analytics off in Settings. This stops new events and removes the local identifier. Previously transmitted events are not automatically retracted. Giving consent again creates a new identifier. Adem keeps no offline event queue, so failed transmissions may be missing from statistics.

5. Reminders

Reminders are optional and scheduled locally after notification permission. Their content contains no smoking records or personal notes. Apple and device settings affect delivery. Disable them in Adem or iPhone Settings.

6. Contact and legal bases

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, including your email and message. Avoid unnecessary sensitive information. We use it to address your request, relying as applicable on service delivery, legal obligations or our legitimate interest in providing support. Optional analytics relies on consent. Any separate processing of health information outside your device requires its own assessment and appropriate legal basis; Adem does not automatically send us that content.

7. Retention and deletion

Local plan and moment data stays until you delete it. Delete all data removes the local plan, moments and local recovery copies and disables automatic backups, analytics and reminders. You manage exports, device backups and files held by other services separately. Uninstalling the app does not guarantee deletion of those copies.

We keep support correspondence as needed to resolve requests, normally for up to twelve months after closure, unless a legal obligation or ongoing dispute requires longer retention. This support retention procedure must also be put into operation before public launch.

8. Your rights

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data we process, and object to processing. You may withdraw consent without affecting prior lawful processing. Contact support@getadem.nl. We do not receive your local records; you can view, edit, export and delete them yourself in the app.

You may complain to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (https://autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl/) or the competent authority in your country. Files with Apple or another chosen provider are also subject to that provider’s rights procedures.

9. Changes

Material changes will be reflected here. New purposes requiring consent will not be silently enabled. The current web notice is at https://getadem.nl/privacy.
